Champions Leauge: FC Basel have to pay penalty for Greenpeace protest

FC Basel is a protest by environmental activists dearly. During the Champions League match against Schalke Greenpeace members had unfurled a banner critical Gazprom - now the Swiss club from the Uefa was covered with a fine of 30,000 euros.

The Disciplinary Board of the European Football Union UEFA has the FC Basel is due to a Greenpeace campaign with a fine of 30,000 euros. According to the Association of Swiss club in the Champions League game was against FC Schalke 04 (0:1) on 1 October insufficiently catered for order.
Greenpeace activists had roped in the fifth minute from the roof of the St. Jakob-Park. With a huge banner, the environmental organization protested against the Russian and Schalke Uefa sponsor Gazprom for drilling in the Arctic. The action had caused a roughly five-minute stoppage in play.
